On March 25, the Hawaiian Ministry of Health released the results of a survey that showed that only 13 percent of Hawaiian residents had received a blessing from a Hawaiian government official in the past three years.
While many people might not be aware of the blessing, they can still use it as a sign of blessings and help ward off disease.
According to the study, the blessing can include “words of encouragement and support for a loved one, the blessings of gratitude and appreciation, and the blessings that the individual may receive.”
The blessing can also be offered in the form of a gift, and may include food or a water purification bowl.
According to Hawaii Health, only 3 percent of Hawaiians are currently receiving the blessing.
