This is all very emotional for me, for our families and the people of St Mary Magdalene Church.
It is the most important moment of my life.”
MOTHER OF MISS MARY: “It’s a great thing.
It’s like Christmas morning and you’ve got the lights and you’re happy.
And then suddenly you see the news that it’s closed.
I’m in disbelief.”
MARY MALCIPOLI: “He was one of the greatest missionaries ever, and he did an amazing job, so it’s very sad that we are no longer able to give him an award.”
MARTIN BISHOD: “The bishop has done a fantastic job.
It was very difficult for him, because he’s not only a bishop but he’s a very humble person.”
MASSACHUSETTS ST PETERSBURG MOTHERS BISHOTES: “A lot of us are really shocked that we can no longer give him a medal, but we have to accept that it is a gift that he has given to us.”
MCCLEARY MOTHER, SUE HANSON: “When he came into our lives he was a man of extraordinary character.
He’s such a generous, loving and kind man, and that’s something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.”
MICHIGAN ST PAUL’S MOTHERMOTHER: “”He was a very loving person.
He was very caring and he loved his family very much.
And he had the best spirit of anybody I’ve ever met.
“MISTY MASSACRE MOTHER:” I think it’s tragic, that we no longer have a church.
But I’m just so thankful to be alive to be able to see this in its fullness.
It will always be part of our history.
“MEMBER OF THE FLAGMARK MRS MARIA: “You know, I have a feeling that there is no more beautiful church in the world, and I’m still a member of it, and it is an incredible place.
“MELBOURNE MEMBER: “My husband and I are not only members of St Margaret’s Church, we are very close to our community.
And I’m very sad about it.
“MEMPHIS MOTHER AND MRS RUTH RUTH: “This is a big loss for our family.
It would be such a huge loss to have lost a person of that caliber, and we are praying for all the other families that have lost their loved ones.
“MATHEWS MEMBER MARY AND JAMES HALLER: “She was a wonderful, wonderful person and we loved her.
We are so proud of her.
“MIRRORS AND MOUNTAINS MARTY MURRAY: “There was a lot of pain, I was just in shock, and you know, a lot has happened since then.
“But I know she is still here.
I know that she is happy.
I do know that there will be a memorial service for her and that the bishop will be here.”
MOST GRANTED BISHOLIN MEMORIAL MIRACLE: “For the past 20 years I’ve been working on a memorial for Mary, the mother of the Church of Scotland.
“I’m hoping that the work that I have been doing will make this happen, so we can remember Mary as the greatest woman in the history of the church.” “
